High school students and college students alike know all too well the reality of college debt. The Chase Rubin Scholarship aims to offset this debt by offering one high school student or college student a $1200 scholarship.
Chase Rubin created the Chase Rubin Scholarship to help offset college costs for a single student each year while also challenging applicants to consider social and educational matters.
The 2018-2019 registration has officially opened, meaning that applicants can proceed with their applications for the Chase Rubin Scholarships. For this year’s scholarship, applicants must write a 500 word essay that answers the question: “How do you think young adults benefit by furthering their education?”
To be eligible for the Chase Rubin Scholarship, applicants must either be high school students attending college in 2019 or current college students who haven’t yet reached their final year of college.
This year marks the scholarship’s second year, and Rubin looks forward to awarding one student with $1200 to go toward college expenses. The submission deadline for applications and essays is July 1, 2019. The Chase Rubin Scholarship committee will review submitted essays and pass along the top 10 to Rubin. Then, Rubin will choose the winner. At the end of August, the winner will be contact, and if he or she doesn’t reply within two weeks, another winner will be chosen.
Rubin will release the $1200 scholarship funds to the student’s college of choice once the school information is verified.
According to Rubin, the scholarship aims to encourage higher education while lowering the costs.
